Srinagar, Aug. 5 -- On Sunday evening, an Air India Express flight (IX2718) bound for Kolkata was forced to return to Bengaluru after being airborne for over two hours due to a technical snag. Operated with an Airbus A320, the aircraft circled mid-air to burn fuel before making a precautionary landing. While no injuries were reported, the airline arranged an alternative aircraft to ferry the passengers. The cause of the issue is currently under investigation.

That same day, another setback hit the airline when flight AI349 from Singapore to Chennai was cancelled due to a maintenance issue discovered during pre-departure checks. The Airbus A321 aircraft required additional time for repairs, prompting the cancellation.
