Srinagar, July 14 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir government has made Aadhaar authentication mandatory for beneficiaries registering on the Union Territory's Drug De-addiction Registry Portal (DDRP), officials said on Monday.

An order issued by the Health and Medical Education Department said beneficiaries seeking treatment through the portal will have to authenticate their identity using Aadhaar or provide proof of Aadhaar enrolment.

The DDRP, maintained by the State Drug Controller Office under the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) mechanism, maintains records of patients undergoing de-addiction treatment and regulates the supply of psychotropic medicines prescribed during rehabilitation programmes.
