Srinagar, Aug. 16 -- With rescue operations entering the third day on Saturday, grief-stricken families said they were "hoping against hope," as every passing hour dimmed the chances of survival for their loved ones.
So far, 82 people - 81 pilgrims and one CISF personnel - remain untraced after the flash floods hit the Padder subdivision on Thursday afternoon. The calamity has already left 60 people dead and over 100 injured.
Jammu, Udhampur and Samba districts accounted for the highest number of missing - about 60 people. Four residents each from Haryana and Madhya Pradesh and one from Himachal Pradesh are also among those reported untraced, while others hailed from Doda, Reasi and Rajouri districts.
