India, March 30 -- The Meteorological Department on Monday forecast a prolonged spell of unstable weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir till April 10, with intermittent rain and snowfall expected in various parts of the region.

Director MeT Centre Srinagar, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall (in higher reaches) along with thunder and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) is expected to continue till late evening on March 30, with gradual improvement thereafter.

He said that between March 31 and April 2, the weather is likely to remain relatively stable, though brief spells of light rain or snow may occur at isolated places, particularly during late afternoon hours. From April 3 to 4, conditions are expect...
