Srinagar, Aug. 13 -- Security forces have stepped up an unprecedented multi-layer security grid across Jammu and Kashmir, especially along the border districts, to ensure a safe and incident-free Independence Day.

In the Jammu region, both ground and aerial surveillance have been intensified, with additional Quick Response Teams (QRTs) deployed in Jammu city.

Army and Border Security Force (BSF) units are maintaining a heightened vigil along the 225-km Line of Control (LoC) and the 192-km International Border (IB), while patrolling and area domination in the hinterland have also been reinforced.

Border grid security has been tightened, with all border roads under strict watch.
