India, March 18 -- Intermittent rain in the plains and fresh snowfall in the higher reaches brought back a winter chill across Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.
A Meteorological Department official said a fresh western disturbance is active over the region, leading to widespread cloud cover and precipitation.
The higher reaches, including Gulmarg and Sonamarg, received fresh snowfall, while the plains, including Srinagar, witnessed intermittent drizzle.
"The current weather pattern is due to a western disturbance. Generally cloudy conditions with light rain at most places and isolated heavy falls are likely over the next 24 hours," the official said.
