SRINAGAR, Aug. 16 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Association (JKHARA) has pressed the government to enforce strict and immediate measures to block the entry of rotten and substandard meat into the Union Territory. Speaking at a press conference in Srinagar, JKHARA President Babar Chowdhary termed the recent seizure of expired meat consignments at Lakhanpur "a wake-up call for public health and consumer confidence."
"We have confirmed incidents of rotten and expired meat being brought into Jammu and Kashmir," Chowdhary stated. "Families cannot be exposed to such risks in the name of profit. Public health and consumer trust are not open to compromise."
