India, March 13 -- Around one lakh devotees on Friday congregated at the revered Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar to offer prayers on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan.

Officials told that large gatherings of worshippers were witnessed at the Hazratbal shrine from early morning, where people offered special prayers and supplications seeking peace, prosperity and well-being for the region.

Meanwhile, authorities had made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the congregational prayers.

Security was significantly strengthened in and around the shrine, while personnel from police and other security agencies were deployed to maintain law and order.
