Srinagar, Aug. 16 -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will be in India on August 18-19 at the invitation of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Saturday.
Yi's visit comes as both nations move cautiously toward easing tensions and strengthening ties. He will meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and join Doval for the 24th round of Special Representatives' talks on the boundary issue.
Relations between India and China have been on a slow mend since last October, when the two sides agreed on new patrol arrangements along the Himalayan border. That deal helped break a five-year standoff that had weighed on trade, investment, and travel.
