Nigeria, July 24 -- Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, has been appointed as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His emergence as chairman was announced during the 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Thursday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

This change in leadership follows the resignation of former chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who stepped down last month citing health issues.
