Nigeri, Aug. 11 -- The ealier reappointment of Dr. Muheeba Dankaka as the Executive Chairman for a second five-year term has been reversed.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday, the Presidency made a U-turn by announcing the reversal of Dankaka's re-appointment and announcing the appointment of a former House of Representatives member, Ayo Omidiran, as the new FCC chair.

The statement read, "President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Ayo Hulayat Omidiran, a former House of Representatives member, the new Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission. She succeeds Dr Muheeba Dankaka, whose tenure was dogged by controversy.
