Nigeria, Dec. 11 -- The senate committee on foreign affairs on Thursday, commenced the screening of non-career ambassadorial nominees sent by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Among those who appeared before the committee were former presidential aide; Reno Omokri, former aviation minister; Femi Fani Kayode former Enugu state governor; Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and the immediate past chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); Yakubu Mahmood.

It was gathered that the nominees were scrutinised on their knowledge of Nigeria's foreign policy, bilateral relations, and strategies for advancing the country's diplomatic and economic interests.
