Nigeria, Aug. 21 -- Key southern leaders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) have distanced themselves from a meeting set to take place on Thursday in Lagos, which is intended to focus on zoning issues within the party.

In a press briefing held in Abuja, Kingsley Chinda, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, articulated concerns over the organization of the meeting.

He noted that a unanimous resolution was reached among several significant southern party leaders-including state chairmen from Imo, Abia, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers States, along with former governors and National Assembly members-voicing their discontent with their exclusion.
