Nigeria, Oct. 5 -- he Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has warned Nigerians against a fake recruitment advertisement circulating online, claiming that the defunct Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is recruiting.

The advertisement asked interested applicants to submit their CVs and applications to an email address, "recruit@replacementnhrmt.org", while also requesting personal information and identification documents.

It also advertised a "graduates job" opportunity for the 2026/2027 session and gave October 24, 2026, as the application deadline.

However, in a public notice issued on Monday, the NRS said the advertisement, titled "Federal Inland Revenue Service - FIRS Job Vacancy - Replacement", did not originate from the service.
