Nigeria, May 4 -- The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Kwara State University (KWASU) chapters, have staged a demonstration over what they described as an unacceptable salary structure imposed by the Federal Government.

The unions alleged systemic marginalisation in the ongoing salary review process, insisting that non-academic staff deserve equal treatment as enjoyed by their academic counterparts.

They condemned the proposed 30 percent salary adjustment, demanding full implementation of the 40 percent increment earlier proposed for members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
