Nigeria, July 30 -- The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) has issued a stern warning to restaurants and food vendors across the State to immediately cease the illegal discharge of wastewater into public drainage systems, highlighting the severe risks this poses to public health and environmental safety.
This warning was issued by KWEPA's General Manager, Hon. Jide Aina, during an inspection tour of major restaurants in the Ilorin metropolis. The Agency's task force discovered numerous establishments improperly discharging effluent water into open drains, resulting in environmental damage and unpleasant odors affecting nearby communities.
