Nigeria, Feb. 1 -- The Kwara State Government has announced the reopening of all schools across the state from Monday, February 2, 2026, following sustained security operations aimed at neutralising threats to public safety.

The decision was conveyed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, who said school authorities had already been informed.

According to the commissioner, the reopening comes amid improved security conditions resulting from ongoing operations by security agencies to flush out criminal elements, including bandits, and safeguard vulnerable locations such as schools.
