Nigeria, Aug. 24 -- The Kwara State Fire Service has urged traders and business owners to install fire detection and suppression systems at their premises following a fire outbreak that destroyed shops at Ita-Amodu, Niger Junction, Ilorin.

The Chief Fire Officer, Alabi Muhammed, made the call on Monday when he visited the scene of the fire incident to sympathise with affected traders and assess the aftermath.

Muhammed expressed concern over the losses suffered by the shop owners and assured them of the Fire Service's continued commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
