Nigeria, June 5 -- The Ondo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for suspected kidnappers who abducted a nine-year-old boy in Ugbosi Quarters, Idogun, Ose Local Government Area of the state.

The command's spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Akure.

According to Jimoh, the incident was reported at about 2:30 a.m. by two residents of the community, Mr Olaosebikan Isaac and Mr Joel Owalekan.

He explained that at approximately 1:30 a.m., a group of armed men stormed the area, firing gunshots indiscriminately and causing panic among residents.
