Nigeria, Oct. 13 -- Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has presented 80 million cheques to families of forest guards and vigilantes who lost their lives in encounters with kidnappers in Babanla, Oke Ode, and Eleyin areas of Ifelodun and Isin Local Government Areas.
The Governor also approved another 100 million support package for families of the community fighters from Edu and Patigi who were killed in an ambush in July while confronting kidnappers.
This was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaiye on Monday.
Presenting the cheques in Ilorin at the weekend, AbdulRazaq praised the courage and patriotism of the fallen heroes, describing their deaths as a great loss to the state.
