Nigeria, Aug. 13 -- In a significant move to address escalating security challenges, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu announced that the Federal Government is establishing a forest guards programme under the Renewed Hope agenda.

President Bola Tinubu approved the creation of the National Forest Guard system on May 15, with each state tasked to recruit between 2,000 to 5,000 forest guards based on their capacity.

Ribadu stated, "I tell you that what lies ahead is leadership that will transform and better Nigeria as part of the Renewed Hope agenda," highlighting the initiative as one of many aimed at safeguarding communities and protecting the country's natural resources.
