Nigeria, Aug. 20 -- Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State.

Mustapha announced his resignation in a statement, saying the decision followed recent developments within the party in the state.

The senator said he arrived at the decision after weeks of consultations and engagements with stakeholders, supporters, constituents across Kwara Central and other well-meaning Kwarans.

According to him, his decision was guided by his belief that politics should be centred on people, principles and purpose.
