Alleged attack on APC chieftains: 'Agaka people are not thugs' - Kwara PDP replies APC
Nigeria, Aug. 24 -- The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has condemned the description of some residents of Agaka as "thugs and hooligans" following the rejection of a political empowerment initiative in the community.
The opposition party accused the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of becoming "overwhelmed" by growing public rejection and urged the governor to caution his aides and political agents against inflammatory statements.
The PDP's State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, made the allegations in a statement on Monday, reacting to comments attributed to an aide of the governor following an incident involving members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agaka.
