Nigeria, Aug. 13 -- Umar Bago, governor of Niger state, has announced his self-appointment as the director-general of President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election campaign.

At a recent All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting in Minna, Bago passionately declared, "I am now the self-imposed director-general of Tinubu campaign for 2027," and proclaimed Niger state as the campaign's headquarters.

Bago emphasized the importance of adhering to the unwritten principle of power rotation, urging fellow politicians to respect this practice.
