Bangladesh, Sept. 9 -- The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the DSE Brokers Association (DBA) held an emergency meeting on Tuesday amid continued market declines, calling for coordinated steps to restore investor confidence.

Advertisement They convened the meeting virtually to discuss the recent market downturn and possible measures to address the situation, according to a statement.

The meeting was organised after the prime bourse's benchmark index plunged more than 100 points on Sunday, with stockbrokers attributing the sharp fall to panic selling and growing concerns over "overregulation" and the economic outlook.

The market endured a further fall on Tuesday, with the DSEX losing 28 points.
