Dhaka, May 30 -- Two more children with measles symptoms have died in the Sylhet Division, taking the death toll from suspected cases of the disease to 60 in the division.

The children died while undergoing treatment at two hospitals within the 24 hours from 8am on Friday to 8am on Saturday, said Sylhet Health Services Department Assistant Director Mohammad Noor Alam Shamim.

Among the deceased children, six-month-old Arifa was a resident of Osmaninagar Upazila in Sylhet. The child died at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

The other child, eight-month-old Abdullah Al Mahin, hailed from Zakiganj Upazila. The child died while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital.
