Bangladesh, July 30 -- Child deaths linked to measles rose to 831 after three more children died with measles and measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Wednesday.

Of the total fatalities, 96 were laboratory-confirmed measles cases, according to the latest bulletin from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 996 new suspected cases and 79 confirmed cases were reported, raising the total number of suspected infections to 126,540 and confirmed cases to 15,739.

In response to the rapidly spreading outbreak, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has vaccinated more than 18.48 million children nationwide since April and is continuing the immunisation campaign.
