Bangladesh, Oct. 28 -- Voting in the by-election to the Thakurgaon-1 constituency will be held on Thursday, with the Election Commission (EC) completing preparations to hold the election in a free and fair manner.

Election materials, including ballot boxes, have been delivered to polling centres under tight security.

According to the EC, the constituency, which fell vacant after Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was elected President, has a total of 516,138 voters.

Voting will take place at 185 polling centres with 989 booths. Five candidates are contesting the by-election.
