Bangladesh, Aug. 27 -- Stocks rebounded on Thursday after a three-day plunge as renewed buying interest in selected sectors helped the benchmark index to close positive, although persistent domestic and geopolitical uncertainties kept investors cautious.

Advertisement The market opened on a high note in the morning, and the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) surged more than 40 points in the mid-session, before late-hour profit-booking sell-offs.

The benchmark index of the prime bourse finally closed 15 points or 0.27 per cent higher to 5,655 points. The DSEX, however, lost more than 146 points in the past three sessions.
