Bangladesh, Aug. 24 -- Stocks opened lower on Monday as the persistent energy crisis continued to weigh heavily on investor sentiment, with factory shutdowns and growing reliance on costly alternative energy raising fresh concerns over industrial production and corporate earnings.

Advertisement Market operators said the prolonged energy crisis, coupled with lingering geopolitical tensions, has made investors increasingly cautious. Concerns are mounting that production disruptions and higher energy costs could hurt the profitability of listed companies, prompting many investors to stay on the sidelines.
