Dhaka, March 19 -- State Minister for Shipping Md Razib Ahsan today said the government has decided to completely stop the practice of boarding passengers from boats to launches in the middle of rivers.

"The government is very strict in preventing overloading of passengers on launches. In particular, those who board launches using boats in the middle of rivers will be completely stopped. No passengers will be allowed to board launches from boats. We are uncompromising on this decision," he said, BSS reports.

He made the remarks while briefing journalists this afternoon after inspecting passenger safety, services, and the overall situation at the Sadarghat launch terminal in the capital.
