Dhaka, June 14 -- A five-and-a-half-month-old child has died with measles-like symptoms in Sylhet in the past 24 hours, from 8:00 am on Sunday, ending a three-day period during which no deaths were reported from measles or related complications in the division.

The child, a resident of Sunamganj Sadar upazila, died while undergoing treatment at Sylhet Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital.

With the latest fatality, the total number of deaths linked to measles and measles-like symptoms in Sylhet division has risen to 69, according to the latest report of the divisional office of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), reports UNB.
