Dhaka, April 30 -- Md Shaugatul Alam, director general of Novotheatre, has been appointed managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).

In a circular issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday, Shaugatul Alam, an additional secretary rank official, was given the charge on deputation.

The post of managing director had remained vacant after the appointment of Mohammad Faruque Ahmed was cancelled on March 3.

Additional Secretary Shaugatul Alam is a BUET graduate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
