Dhaka, Feb. 13 -- The National Citizen Party (NCP) has demanded a recount of votes in several constituencies, alleging irregularities and manipulation in the announcement of election results.

The party alleges that the results are being tampered with in a planned manner in some centres.

NCP Spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain made the allegation at a press conference held at the NCP central office in Bangla Motor in the small hours on Friday, UNB reports.

"We are getting clear evidence of result tampering aimed at the 11-party alliance's top candidates," he alleged.
