Dhaka, March 15 -- Bangladesh's national gas grid Saturday started receiving around 8.0 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of natural gas from onshore Srikail-5 hydrocarbon well that boosts domestic fuel supply at crisis time.
State-run Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (BAPEX) drilled the well during last September- to - January period at a cost of around Tk 1.32 billion.
State Minister for the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MPEMR) Anindya Islam Amit inaugurated the facility at a function on the well premises.
According to BAPEX, this development well is expected to supply gas for around 10 years.
