Dhaka, March 1 -- A month-long road safety awareness campaign has begun in Dhaka to increase public awareness and thus prevent road accidents and reduce the number of accidental casualties.

The campaign is being conducted by Swift Solution, a private organisation that has been working on road safety for a long time, according to a media release.

The campaign was inaugurated in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka today (Sunday). Speakers at the programme highlighted the importance of law enforcement, increasing awareness, and active public participation to ensure road safety.

They said law enforcement alone is not enough to prevent road accidents; massive awareness and responsible behaviour are also needed.
