Dhaka, Feb. 11 -- Armed miscreants opened fire on the house of an expatriate BNP activist in Raozan of Chattogram around noon on Wednesday (February 11), a day before Bangladesh's polls.
The incident took place at the house of Rustom Ali in Shamsherpara village under Kodolpur Union. Rustom Ali, a BNP activist, currently lives in the United Arab Emirates, according to local and party sources.
Police said a group of 10 to 12 armed men went to the house, fired blank rounds and shouted abusive words before leaving the area.
A team of police and army personnel rushed to the spot, but the attackers fled before their arrival. Administrative officials later visited the scene.
Police said they have not yet been able to identify the assailants....
