Bangladesh, Oct. 5 -- Experts at the Bay of Bengal Conversation 2026 have called for locally tailored artificial intelligence (AI) frameworks based on local data, institutions and labour markets to strengthen state capacity and promote inclusive growth.

They also stressed the need for emerging economies to harness AI to boost productivity and improve public services while ensuring transparency, accountability and trust in algorithm-based decision-making.

The observations came at the opening of a day-long session titled "Can Algorithms Build Trust?" at the Bay of Bengal Conversation 2026, organised by the Centre for Governance Studies (CGS) in Dhaka.
