Bangladesh, Aug. 25 -- A coordinated effort from commercial banks, the regulator, and other stakeholders is required to build a sustainable start-up-financing ecosystem in Bangladesh, speakers at a seminar said on Monday.

Advertisement They said such unified policy guidelines could help establish a financing pathway through which promising start-ups can gradually move from idea-stage support to sustainable commercial financing as their business models mature.

The Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) arranged the seminar titled "Start-up Financing in Bangladesh: Can Commercial Banks Play a Significant Role?" at its office in the capital's Mirpur.
