Dhaka, Feb. 12 -- Candidates of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami have secured victory in all four parliamentary constituencies in Nilphamari in the 13th national election.

The results were announced on Thursday night after vote counting by District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman.

In Nilphamari-1 (Domar-Dimla), Jamaat candidate Maulana Abdus Sattar was elected with 149,214 votes from 154 centres. His nearest rival, BNP-led alliance candidate Maulana Manzurul Islam Afendi, who contested with the sheaf of paddy symbol, received 118,160 votes.
