Dhaka, April 7 -- A female activist of Jamaat-e-Islami, Bibi Sauda, was granted bail Tuesday by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Bhola, a day after her arrest over alleged anti-state and anti-government posts on Facebook.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Saurav Rai Mithu approved her bail petition in the afternoon. According to the case statement, Sauda was arrested Sunday night from her home in Adarshapara, Bhola, along with her mobile phone. She was later remanded in jail under Section 54 of the law, reports UNB.

District Jamaat leaders held a press conference Monday, claiming Sauda's arrest was made without specific evidence and protesting her detention.
