Bangladesh, Aug. 3 -- Bangladesh's internet subscriber base expanded at a considerably faster pace than its mobile subscriber base during the first half of 2026, signalling that digital adoption is increasingly being driven by higher data usage among existing mobile users rather than by new SIM registrations.

Latest data from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) showed the country had 135.94 million internet subscribers and 189.83 million active mobile subscribers at the end of June 2026.
