Dhaka, April 5 -- Bangladesh's inflationary pressure eased in March 2026 as food items showed a downward trend during the month.
Inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), came down to 8.71 per cent in March 2026 on a point-to-point basis from 9.13 per cent a month earlier. A year ago, in March 2025, it was 9.35 per cent.
Food inflation fell to 8.24 per cent in March from 9.30 per cent in the previous month, while non-food inflation rose slightly to 9.09 per cent from 9.01 per cent, according to the latest data released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Sunday.
