Dhaka, May 6 -- The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) has urged the government to ensure the appointment and promotion of engineers to top leadership roles within technical and engineering-based organizations.

Their demands include the removal of non-technical officials from management positions in engineering agencies, the elimination of discriminatory promotion barriers, and the establishment of a dedicated "BCS Water Resources" cadre to enhance national water security and management.

The calls were made during a view exchange meeting with senior journalists held on Wednesday noon at the Council Hall of the IEB Headquarters in Ramna, Dhaka.
