Bangladesh, Oct. 13 -- The state-owned Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) is financing Walton Hi-Tech Industries' 50-megawatt (MW) captive solar power project, marking one of the largest rooftop and floating solar investments by a private manufacturer in the country. IDCOL will provide Tk 1.44 billion in total for the project, of which Tk 440 million has already been disbursed, IDCOL acting managing director Monirul Islam told energy reporters at Walton's complex in Chandra, Gazipur on Monday. Walton has so far installed 32 MW from solar - covering factory roofs, walkways and a 1.25 MW floating plant on a factory pond - with support from IDCOL, Monirul said.
