Dhaka, Nov. 13 -- The High Court (HC) has asked the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) to explain why three sections of the revised margin rules should not be declared 'unconstitutional'.

An HC bench comprising Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Ashif Hasan on Wednesday issued the rule following a writ petition filed by a group of general investors led by SM Iqbal Hossain.

The revised rules, titled Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Margin) Rules, 2025, came into effect after the issuance of a gazette notification on November 6.
