Dhaka, May 19 -- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast temporary gusty or stormy winds, accompanied by rain or thundershowers in eight regions of the country.

The river ports in these areas have also been instructed to raise cautionary signal No. 1, bdnews24.com reports.

Meteorologist Abdul Hamid said on Tuesday morning, "By 6pm [on Tuesday], rain or thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds with speeds of 45-60kmh from the west or northwest may occur over the Dhaka, Faridpur, Barishal, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions.
