Bangladesh, Aug. 7 -- The government has issued a public notice urging strict enforcement of the Noise Pollution (Control) Rules, 2025, warning that excessive noise poses a serious threat to public health, environmental quality and biodiversity.

Advertisement The notice, issued by the Department of Environment (DoE) and signed by Director General Dr Md Lutfor Rahman, sets area-specific permissible noise limits and outlines a series of restrictions on loud sound equipment, vehicle horns, fireworks and construction activities.

According to the notification, the maximum permissible noise level has been fixed at 40 decibels in silent zones and 75 decibels in industrial areas.
