Bangladesh, July 26 -- The government is working to transform Bangladesh from a labour-intensive economy into one driven by knowledge and innovation, with a strong focus on developing high-technology industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), advanced chip design and bioelectronics, ICT Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam has said.

The minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Science and Technology said this on Sunday while speaking as the chief guest at a session titled "Bangladesh Deep-Tech Future" on the second day of the two-day National Semiconductor Symposium and BEAR Summit 2026 at the National Science and Technology Complex (Novo Theatre) in Dhaka.
