Dhaka, Feb. 28 -- Gold prices in the local market have been increased again, with the price of the highest quality 22-carat gold rising by Tk 4,374 per bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk 265,414, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).

The new prices came into effect from 10:30 am on Saturday, following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Saturday, reports local agency. The information was disclosed in a statement signed by committee chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.

Earlier, the price of 22-carat gold was increased by Tk 2,216 per bhori on February 23 and by Tk 3,266 on February 21. ...
